Merry Christmas and a happy new year

23rd December 2015

As usual we have been busy which is depicted in the many photos on Facebook. In brief over the year we have:

  1. been to Evade martial arts centre for 8 sessions
  2. had venture arts come in for 10 sessions
  3. done a bit of archery at Rope Race
  4. been to Blackpool
  5. Held a summer ball
  6. Halloween quiz and craft day
  7. Had volunteers help us tidy up the garden and buy new garden furniture ending in a celebratory BBQ
  8. hosted an alternative sports day
  9. the drama group performed their play with The Edge Theatre  group in Chorlton
  10. and ended the year with a fantastic Christmas party

Speaking of our Christmas winter wonderland themed party, thank you to everyone who came, especially DJ Micky who entertained us despite having a car accident on the way in.  The catering was done by the Traveling pig company, they did a wonderful hog roast which went down a storm.

We will  be having  a small cut in our funding from April’16; this has brought forward our plans to restructure which will start  in the new year.  We are all very positive about it and are  which we are all looking forward to the future.  There will be no impact on the people who come to The Shaw Centre or OPAL.

Sadly Elaine is leaving us, she has worked for us for 14yrs and has chosen to take voluntary redundancy.  We wish her all the best for and hope she stays in contact.

We will be open on Tuesday the 5th January 2016.

That just leaves us to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.
