Mid summer update

22nd June 2016

Half way through the year already, how time flies

So much has happened all of which can be followed on our face book, but in brief:

On the 1st April OPAL ceased to exist, all the places were transferred to The Shaw Centre and we feel we now offer an even better user led service.  The transition went smoothly and everyone seems to be getting along just fine.

We half way through the second year of our partnership with JTI.  The ongoing support we get from them is fantastic, on top of us benefiting from people volunteering to help clean up the garden and hold quiz afternoons the actual donation enables us to continue with some of the activities we started last year, for example Self-defence at  Evade, and an animation project with Venture Arts.

We have been lucky enough to receive an additional donation which is helping make 2016 even better, it has funded a trip to Chester Zoo and a new fold away pool 6ft table.

We will be having a summer BBQ, date to be confirmed.  Finger crossed it will be a sunny day.

We have started to think about a theme for our Christmas party, there are few great ideas being put forward but how do we better the Hog roast last year!

We have various groups coming in this year to work with us/ volunteer time.

In July and August young people from the National Citizen Program will be joining us for a few days; they are also supporting us to do a bag back in Asda.  The date will be given out closer to the time.

Please remember we have constant updates on our Facebook page.
